Affirming the value that Jesus places on children, First Church is making our Children's Ministries a priority. We want to Evangelize, Disciple, and Integrate them into our Christian community. To achieve this goal we have a number of opportunities for children and their families. To contact Children's Ministries go to mhall@hutchfirstnaz.org.

At FCN, we have many different Children's and Family Ministries occuring year round.  Here is a brief description of some of those ministries.

Bible Max for Kids
All kids, K-6th grades, join us for Bible MAX at 6:30 pm in the Kids Theatre. Our format for kids features small groups, drama, music, video and games. For more information concerning Bible Max please contact Pastor Mark. No registration necessary.
 
Tale of 3 Trees
Children's Musical Now Rehearsing
star Rehearsals are each Wednesday night and Sunday morning for The Tale of 3 Trees Children's Musical. All children are welcome to participate! Join us in the Theatre Wednesdays at 6:30 pm and Sundays at 10:45 am. We will be presenting the musical during both morning worship services on Sunday, October 21st.
star Listening CD’s and music are now available for your children to start practicing. They can be picked up in the Theatre on Sunday mornings or Wednesday evenings.
star If you would like to be a part of the leadership team for this musical, please see Pastor Mark or Peg Krehbiel - there are still important roles to be filled!
   
Children's Mission Retreat
3rd - 6th grade students join us as we travel aboard Air Naz to learn about Christians around the world! Check your luggage at 6:30 pm on Friday, October 5th here at First Church.  Our tour guide, Pastor Mark, will lead the excursion as we travel through customs to several locations throughout the world. Be sure to pack the following items for travel: 1 roll of quarters, sleeping bag and pillow, Bible, comfortable traveling clothes, and permission slip Snacks and breakfast will be served. Our excursion concludes at 10:00 am Saturday morning.
   

Sunday School
In our growing Sunday school classes the children discover the joy of knowing Jesus. Our children experience solid, Bible-based learning through the teaching of our caring and dedicated staff of teachers. There are classes for all ages from nursery through 6th grade. Opening exercises begin at 9:15 am and classes begin at 9:35 am.

   

Kids Bible Quizing

All 1st through 5th graders are welcome to join us for Kids Bible Quizzing. We meet each Sunday afternoon from 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm in rooms 307 & 308. Dr. Digalot and his trusty sidekick Canteen the Camel will lead us on an unforgettable adventure through Matthew. For more information or to register email kidsquizzing@hutchfirstnaz.org. Quizzing is a fun way for kids to fellowship and test their Bible knowledge.

   
Kids Church
Kids Church is for Kindergarten through 6th grade children and meets in the Kids Theater located in the Children's Wing during the 10:45 morning worship hour.
   

Kids Choir

Twice a year the Children's Choir performs a musical program. Typically we perform around the Easter and Christmas seasons. The goal of our Children's Music Program is to nurture children in the area of music. The Children's Choir is for Kindergarten through 6th grade children and they meet Sundays at 6:00 pm in the Fireside Room when rehearsing.

   

MOPS - Mothers of Preschoolers Ministry
Need a place to escape and be refreshed and revived?  MOPS may be just what you need!  MOPS is for any mother with a child birth through kindergarten.  We meet on the 1st and 3rd Fridays, September thru May, with our first meeting on September 16, 2011. Christ's Care Preschool

Christ's Care Preschool provides learning experiences with a Christian emphasis. At our preschool, children have the oportunity to explore the wonders of God's world and to feel the unconditional love that He has for each of them. T/Th 3 & young 4's: 9-11:30 or 1:00-3:30, $75/mo. MWF 4 & 5 year olds: 9-11:30 $90/mo. One time enrollment fee of $35. For more information contact Melissa Marcum.

   
Preteen Ministries
The two toughest years of childhood are the 5th and 6th grade, therefore we provide numerous opportunities for ministry to meet the ever-changing needs of Preteens. Through discipleship programs like SALT (Student Action Leadership Teams), a Bible Fellowship Catechism class (a "what we believe" course for 6th graders), and annual retreats we seek to nurture a Preteen's faith in Christ and provide a solid foundation for their teenage years.

Fun for the whole family
A simple dinner will be served for $1
Donations of candy, small prizes and cash donations are received for this annual community outreach. Many volunteers are needed to make this event happen. Sign up at familyministries@hutchfirstnaz.org.
   
Preteen Party
Friday, January 1st

All 5th & 6th grade students are invited to a PreTeen New Year's Party on Friday, January 1st. We'll meet at the South Entrance of the church at 6:00 pm for pizza then we'll head over to Wichita for bowling. Be sure to have a parent/guardian sign a permission slip, wear socks and bring $5. Baby Day
Baby Day is celebrated the first Sunday of May. All babies who have not yet reached their 2nd birthday are encouraged to participate in our Baby Day Parade. For more information click here.
   

Preteen Community Ministries Trip
If you have completed 5th or 6th grade you are invited to go for two days of helping others in the Kansas City, Kansas area. Parents (one or both) are welcome to join you. Cost is $50.00 per family. Before returning home we'll spend Saturday at Worlds of Fun! Items to bring include: Bible, sports clothes, tennis shoes, bathroom toiletries, towel/wash cloth, sleeping bag.  Register online at www.hutchpreteen.com.
